Race Car Registry — Photo Upload Rights Declaration

This declaration applies when a user uploads photographs to Race Car Registry.
Declaration
By confirming this declaration for an upload, I confirm that:
- I own the rights necessary to upload and publish the photograph, or I have permission or another lawful basis to do so;
- the photographer, copyright-holder, source, attribution and licence information I provide is accurate to the best of my knowledge;
- if I select a Creative Commons or other reuse licence, I am entitled to make the photograph available under that licence;
- I understand that simply finding a photograph on a website, social network, search engine, archive or forum does not by itself give me permission to republish it;
- I understand that providing a source link or naming the photographer does not by itself replace permission where permission is required;
- I understand that public photographs uploaded to Race Car Registry may be viewed by anyone and may be indexed or linked to from elsewhere;
- I grant Race Car Registry the rights necessary under the Terms of Use to host, technically process, create thumbnails from, display, back up and otherwise operate the Registry with the uploaded photograph; and
- I understand that Race Car Registry may restrict or remove a photograph if a credible copyright, licensing or other rights concern is reported.
Race Car Registry does not routinely or independently verify the copyright or licensing status of every user-uploaded photograph.
The uploader remains responsible for the accuracy of the rights, source, attribution and licence information supplied.
Photographer attribution
If I select an option identifying myself as the photographer, I authorise Race Car Registry to display the photographer credit I choose.
Where my account contains an optional first and last name, that name remains private unless I expressly choose to use it as a public photo credit or another public attribution.
Licence choices
The upload interface may offer choices including:
- All rights reserved — the photograph is publicly viewable on Race Car Registry, but no general third-party reuse licence is granted by the uploader;
- CC BY 4.0 — reuse is permitted subject to the licence's attribution requirements;
- CC BY-SA 4.0 — reuse is permitted subject to attribution and ShareAlike requirements;
- CC0 1.0 — the rights holder applies the CC0 public-domain dedication to the extent legally possible; or
- Other / custom — the uploader must accurately identify the applicable terms.
